After over two years of planning and 18 months of fundraising The Branch Trust has been granted planning permission
to make all the necessary changes to develop the former NatWest bank building into a thriving community hub that will serve our community for generations to come! After an extraordinary meeting of WODC Planning Committee on 9th August (including a site visit), the application was met with unanimous approval, pending minor tweaks to sight lines on the proposed rear extension.
This is a huge turning point opening the door to applications for capital grants from the likes of the Garfield Weston Foundation
, a highly respected funder, who has pledged their support. This, and other generous gifts, brings our fundraising for the capital build costs of the project to over £2million
, closer and closer to the £3.4million needed.
We are extremely grateful to all those who have chosen to join us on this journey and be part of our vision, and hopeful that, as momentum grows, more in our community will want to be part of it and help create this lasting legacy for the generations to come.
