Your gateway to
The Branch
Connect Cafe continues every Tuesday in August.
All are welcome to drop in 1 to 2.30pm.
We work with compassion, creativity and collaboration
at the heart of the community.
Our Story
Over a decade has passed since we first decided to build hope and transform lives.
In 2015, we established a CAP Debt Centre. In 2016, we launched the Remix Youth Club. In 2019, the Government published the Indices of Deprivation Report. It highlighted Chipping Norton as the most deprived neighborhood in West Oxfordshire. We needed to do more. That year, we bought the old NatWest Bank Building. Our Story in Pictures shows our journey from then to now.
Connect Café
A safe, welcoming café, where there is an opportunity to craft, knit, crochet, play games, chat or just sit quietly and enjoy a magazine with a cuppa and a piece of cake.
There is also a 'help desk' offering assistance with form filling, benefits and signposting to further support as well as accessing our Branch Out & Budget packs. There are regular opportunities to talk to the Citizen's Advice drop in and currently we also offer support to Ukrainian hosts and guests, partnering with Asylum Welcome and a local translator.
Drop in, no referral needed, all ages welcome, free.
Meeting a need...
..in West Oxfordshire, where skills and attainment rank in the bottom 10% in England and deprivation affecting children is in the lowest 20% (IMD 2019).
Debt, Domestic Abuse and Poor Mental Health are common local challenges
Our impact
Over the last nine years we have reached and engaged with 800 children, youth and adults, and helped them overcome the many barriers they faced to turn their lives around.
During the Covid-19 pandemic we delivered 46,000 meals and 5,000 wellbeing packs. 93 families have been supported by our debt centre. 34 are now living debt-free.
Each term we mentor over 15 young people through local schools. We offer mental health support, build self-esteem, improve school attendance rates and open up career opportunities.
To date we have helped 62 families take steps towards domestic abuse recovery.

Co-working space to rent
Part of our vision is to build community and enable small businesses to work alongside us, building sustainability for our charity.
His Royal Highness the Duke of Edinburgh visits
The Branch!
His Royal Highness met with over 40 members of staff, volunteers, trustees, supporters and beneficiaries of The Branch.
The visit shone a light on the work of The Branch in supporting local communities, which is yet another example of great community spirit within the County of Oxfordshire.
